/nope
Jack Baty has a wonderful personal site that I like to read outside of my RSS reader1 and while perusing it, I found that he had a /nope page which made me curious.
Introducing: /slash pages
Robb Knight created a site dedicated to slash pages and he goes into more detail about their purpose on his wonderfully fun blog so I won’t be doing that here.
Nope page
A /nope
page is basically the things you:
- Don’t want to do
- Or aren’t interested in
So, with that in mind, my nopes:
I won’t
- …subscribe to your newsletter
- …turn off my ad blocker
- …turn on notifications
- …leave you a review
- …give your app access to my location
- …give your app local network access
- …donate to your dubious pet charity
- …like, follow, and subscribe
- …leave a five star review for your podcast
- …join your Discord
- …chat with your chatbot
- …listen to both sides because one side is a fascist, racist, authoritarian regime destroying democracy across the globe and the other is toothless, gutless, and cowardly and just slightly better than the other
- …subscribe and pay for your Substack
- …hop on a call
- …pay for premium
- …buy your merch

I have a select few sites I visit outside of RSS because I like the design and get inspired by them. ↩
